St. Pius X Catholic School was founded in 1959 by the Sisters of Charity who named the school after Pope Pius X, who worked tireless to restore the Catholic faith. The school was actually built around the nuns' convent, which gives us a special connection to their founding presence. In the 1960’s, the school enrollment exceeded 800 students! The nuns served in all capacities in the school at that time, from teaching to administration. They lived together on the premises, and worked together to educate the Catholic youth.
Our current mission is based on the same principles as the religious sisters who founded the school: Goodness, Discipline, and Knowledge, which also guides our teaching philosophy.
